MIRACLES.....

Two miracles happened today.... First, i managed to actually find an internet connection in the middle of This semi aussie desert....wahahahahahah... In this makeshift medical center, the medic actually had some sense to apply for an internet connection... $34 bucks for unlimited acsess... OptusNet.... 56k dial up..... not the fastest.... but wad de hell... finding a connection here is like finding water in the midddle of the sahara desert.....wahahahahahaha... However, its usining the only phone line in de medical center so if i use the net, people cannot call in... so i must be careful...hahah

secondly, i was covering an orientation drie today.... The rover behind me suddenly swerved and overturned... I was stunned and stopped my rover and go down with my stuff to try and stabalise de people inside.... was very scary at first.... expecting spinal injuries and massive bleeding..... but........ 2nd miracle....... both of them climbed out un-scattered... The drive got away injury free and the vehicle commander just got away with a sprained wrist.....lol..... Seems that i was because they both wore seat belts..... so people... lesson is WEAR YER SEAT BELTS WHEN YOU DRIVE!!!!... They were seriously damn lucky.... and so was i....hahah... imagine if there were passengers behind..... injuries galore....... not fun....lol.... anyways.... we reported the incident and sent for a recovery team to recover the rover... What will happen to the two cocksters? im not sure too... hahah... i really thank god(im buddhist by the way) that things turned out well.... oh well hope dat for the following days, i'll be able to handle things well.... i got a few photos ... will upload when i get back....

okay..... time to log off.... before i get caught..... hahaha.... MIRACLES DO HAPPEN!!!!!!!

7 MORE HOURS TILL ... ...

i go see kangaroos and koala bears. Hopefully what ming hui said about kangaroos boxing me and koala bears crushing me will not come true.

I'll be back... ...

~Medics all are we~

21.5 HOURS TILL ISOLATION....

WHOA....YOUNG IS HUMAN AFTER ALL......

Just came back from union, bathed and settled down. It's 21 plus hours before i fly off to aussieland where I will be cut off from civilization for almost 3 weeks. I'm having mixed feelings right now. Half of me is raring to go, to embrace the great unknown and feed the innate yearning for wide open spaces. The other half however is feelin the strain of having to let go of many things that are dear to me, that defines my existence and makes me who i am, to give up the creature comforts and interpersonal relationships that make me feel at home.

Sounds like im going to be gone for a long long time but im only going to be gone for about 3 weeks....lol... It's just me i guess. I am human after all despite not looking and acting like one...haha

Through the past few days, i realised that i have many things to be happy for in my life. There is so much that i should feel glad about. I have taken many things for granted. So many things.... where should i start?

Simple things like waking up in the morning and havin french toast and a cup of hot milo that my grandma always makes for me. The sweet smells... Talking nonscene with my camp mates( some of them are actually nice....lol) before we go and visit ah lao for breakfast. Slacking in the reading room, sleeping on the couch, playing the guitar and talking rubbish with steve. The feeling of signing the booking in and out book before leaving camp to go home....

The feeling of knowing that whatever happens and no matter how sucky the day is, there will always be home. Eating dinner at the dinner table. Surfing the net, using msn, friendster and blogging. Saying hi to mj just as she's about to log off. Playing adventure quest. Jamming on my trusty 6 stringed Samick guitar. Never having to worry about not having hot water to bathe in or toilet paper running out. Lying on my custom made XXXXXXXXXL matteress everynight and hugging my bolster to sleep...( yesh... my bolster is literally the closest thing to me...hahah)

Going for salsa classes at JJ SalsaRengue and guitar lessons at Hark music every saturday. Playing DOTA at Parklane with the guys and getting owned lotsa times... ( thanks for making me feel so noobish in DOTA andrew... one of these days, maybe after meditating about dota in a dusty rover out in the wilderness in aussieland, i'll return the favour....lol) Having dinner at Cafe Cartel. Listening to wern wei's radical views of the world. Smsing my frens using my wonky Nokia phone( well at least it actually has a colour screen....). Hanging out and chilling with the gang, jwo, jinn, jian and vic, despite the nasty things they always say. That theory the guys have that i will get a super model girlfriend in future...( According to jian and the rest of the guys, good looking guys get ugly girlfriends while ugly guys have real good looking girlfriends as the amount of " good lookingness" is the same and is spread out among both parties in a couple. So, according to that theory, i should get a girlfriend that looks like Denise Keller.... lol... we'll wait and see..hahaha).

Going down to union square to salsa with people like sherene, kaimin, jean, phylis( erm i think i spelt it wrongly...lol), clarence and the rest of the people i danced with. Gin and tonic. Doing the la una, shadow and enshuffla. Perpising like a pig after a couple of dances. The relief of catching the last train home after salsaing....

See, i have so many things to be happy about. The small and lovely things that many of us grow to take for granted over time. People, we should stop and smell the roses once in a while. Learn to appreciate the small things in life, your friends and family and being able to live life relatively freely. Always tresure the people and things you have around you. Do not take people and things for granted. Tell your girl/boyfriend and family memebrs that you love them. Learn not to always dwell upon what you do not have but appreciate the things that you have. Live life to the fullest.

I have not even left home but im starting to miss it. However, i chose to go to aussieland. I made a decision to step out of my comfort zone, to experience new things and see the world. I will step forward and take things in my stride. I will take this oppurtunity to test my limits and learn more about myself. I will return a betterman ( nows a good time to play that robbie williams song....lol). Talk about personal power...lol

Dear all, cherish everyone around you and take nothing for granted. Live life to the fullest......

Smell the roses... but beware of the thorns.....lol

TO THE LAND OF THE NOUGAT.......

I went to send my kit bag for my trip to aussie land today. Another 3 short days before i take the big flying machine to the land down under, where kangaroos and koala bears roam..... and more importantly, THE BIRTH PLACE OF THE NOUGAT!!!!!...

For those who have eaten the nougat, congratulations for tasting one of the rare delicacies on earth... For those who haven't, here's a picture for you...

Drool people..... DROOL!!!!!

I personally like hard crunchy ones.... The soft ones are disgusting.... Anyways, im going to buy lotsa nougat back. For your infomation, nougat is pronounced ... NU... GAAA.... Not.... NO.... GAT.... If you ask the aussies where to find NOGAT, they'll stare at you blank faced, ask you what flavour are you looking for and bring you to the YOUGAT section... There, i guess you'll be able to find lotsa anlene low fat yougat and maybe other dairy products like chessdale cheese.....lol.... Trust me.... it happens...hahaha

Back to today.... When sending our kit bag, we had to pass thorough an inspection by a RSM...( Regimental Sergeant Major aka Really Sucky Man aka Really Stupid Man aka Retarded Spastic Moron....Hmm... But then again that RSM that inspected my bag is a nice guy... oh wells...) We were told that the aussies were very particular about soil and dirt. Apparently, they get very peeved about people bring in mud into their pure land...

Erm... wadsup man!!!??? Whats abit of dirt among friends? We go aussie land buy lotsa nougat, we go aussie land study, we go gold coast see bugs bunny and gang... I mean we good buddies right, bring in abit of dirt no harm lah?? At most at the airport hire more auntie and uncles go mop the floor more often lah... See we even help u create more jobs....lol..

So, we were told to go clean our boots which obviously had varying amounts of dirt on them. We ended up spending a good half hour kiwing our boots, coating the base, tounge, laces.... basically the whole boot to cover the dirt and make the boots look clean... Come to think about it.... damn funny sia... Macham take moldy bread, take a big bottle of skippy's peanut butter, bua a thick layer of peanut butter to cover all the mold and make it look nice before serving it to your friend over a cup of tea.....lol... Covering our boots with kiwi serves no purpose... after a while the kiwi will wear away and the underlying dirt will appear and whreck havoc......wahahahahaha...

Green moldy bread + Peanut butter = New bestseller from Ya Kun!!!

Anyways, i will be gone from 16 oct till 3 nov... will miss salsaing, guitaring, dotaing and many many good things in life. When i told some people that i actually volunteered to go aussieland, many people stared at me in disbelief before they started to fall of their chairs and laugh. They think im insane, giving up almost 3 weeks of creature comforts and throwing myself into the aussie wilderness on my own accord... Maybe im a tad bit insane... Well, i see it as a chance to challenge myself physical and mentally... eat abit of australian dirt, see some kangaroos and get a tan.... i mean how often do you get to travel long distances in a rover on a dusty road and look good trying to save people???

The epitome of insanity!!!!!

Maybe i'll even find a salsa club hidden in the deep reccesses of the aussie dessert...hahaha... i'll really light up the scene then....lol.. Nevermind... scoff all you want you cynics... after the 19 days, i'll return a betterman, tall dark and handsome....wahahahahahaha...

Jimmy the salsa dancing kangaroo playing it cool....

FROM THE HOME OF JACKIE CHAN......

Allo folks just came back from Hong Kong , the city of bright lights, colourful clothing and roasted goose. I went there for 4d3n and saw, ate and bought lotsa stuff.... Learnt a few lessons too... but i'll share it with you guys some other time....lol... Anyway, heres a brief outline of what we did for you to drool over....wahahahahahah

~Cause im leavin on a jet plane...~

DAY 1, 05/10/05

I reached changi airport at 4.31am.... to catch my freakingly inhuman flight at 6.45am. Jian was there first, sipping his tea. Victor came around 5am. We checked in and went to BK for breakfast. United Airlines sucks by the way. Their cabin crew have that "couldn't give a damn" attitude, the food sucks and they don't serve peanuts.... We reached Hong Kong at 10.30am and proceeded to Eaton hotel. Ourroom wasn't ready so we went to "Dai Ga Lok" ( da jia le) Cafe De Coral for lunch. Its a rather popular fast food chain in hk. It serves oriental food though, like rice n noodles... We went back to eaton after dat and settled down. Next, we took the MTR to Tsim Sha Tsui to shop. Saw lotsa clothes but i couldn't buy any cos the sizes were too small. I was plauged by this problem throughout the whole trip. It feels so bad when you one to buy something so badly but yer just a size to big for it.... sighz.... Next, we went to kowloon park for a walk where jian pointed out to me that there was a hole in my shirt. Then we went back to the hotel for a resup( resupply of money, rest and to use the toilet). Simpsons was on the cartoon network and we watched it. We moved out again to meet Vic's dad at 7.00pm where he brought us to the Happy Valley Race course to see horse races because it was free entry that night. Was quite an eye opener. Lotsa people. Next, vic's dad bought us dinner and we left him to go to Mongkok. Did more shopping where i bought my first item , an adidas T-shirt. After a couple of hours more, we returned back to eaton for the night...

U meant there was a 4.31 am on the clock!!!????

And so our quest begins.....

the comforts of home...

Kowloon park.... Oh yah dats me...

The race course...

Run horsie ... run!!!

Young in the big city...

Victor painted his face with war paint before he went to fight the Zzz monster...

DAY 2, 06/10/05

We left eaton at 9.30am, and had a very filling dim sum breakfast at a nearby restaurant. We then took the MTR to Tsuang Guan O and took bus 792m to Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Victor went about the procedues for application and I took a walk around the campus. It had a very nice view and i saw a few ang moh students too... Upon completion of vic's paper work, we took the MTR to Kowloon Bay and visited Telford shopping mall. New hong kong malls are very big because there is more land in hong kong i guess....lol. After that, we took the MTR to North Point to take a tram to Tin Hao( tian hou ) and searched for an elusive shop called Mid West which specialises in 2nd hand western styled clothes. We had dinner and took the MTR to Cause Way Bay where we proceeded to shop some more before we took a cab up to the peak where we were greeted with an orgasmic and panaromic view of HK. That place is so nice and HK is literally the city of mani mani lights...lol. I also had a "chio bu" incident which i will blog out sometime later. Went back to Jordan, had a nice supper consisting of dumplings and soy milk before we went back and i visited dream land at around 2 am.....

Argh... its the invasion of the dim sum army.....

Guess who came to save the day....

And you thought siew mais grew on trees....

NTU's cousin in HK, HKUST....

All bright and shiny...

Oooh... prwetty lights....

Truely orgasmic view from the top of HK.....

Are they angels from heaven???

The fellowship...

DAY 3, 07/10/05

We decided to visit Shenzhen, china today. We took the MTR and transfered to a train before we reached the border. After clearing immigration, we hopped onto Shenzhen's subway system and went to this place called Lao Jie(Old Street) where we went to shop at Dong Men area. I must say that shopping was cheap but the selection wasn't really fantastic. Lotsa the shopping was like shopping at heartland markets in sg. There are nice stuff but you have to be able to find it. On the bright side, the gals there are rather good looking. Nice skin, fair, slim, sharp oriental features and nice hair...but still as with most asians, they arent very tall....hahahaha. I think they fare better them the gals in hk but gals in hk dress much better...lol... In Shenzhen, we didnt really feel very safe even with lotsa police prescene... they even have police officers in the subway stations. Anyways, we went back to hk at 4 plus, resupped and set off again at 5.30pm to Mongkok where jian finally got a pair of Vans sneakers. Vic left us at 8.15pm to meet his grandpa. Jian and i went on to shop somemore before we went back to eaton to resup and link up with vic. At around 11.30pm, we set off to Lan Kwai Fong and went to club at a place called 'C' Club. I had a cocktail called chivas sweet and a shot of Smirnoff. Vic had chivas snow and a botttle of Heinekien. Jian had chivas mystery and a shot of Baccardi 151. There was a guest DJ from UK who was some DJ of the year 2005. We went on to dance but jian and vic stopped a while later cos they said they weren't high enough. I wasn't high too but i danced anyway. The people there could really dress up but couldn't dance for nuts. I threw in many body movements picked up from salsa. I out danced lotsa people (or at least i guess so....lol). Didn't really chat any gals up due to my notoriously shy nature..... sighz.... We eft the club at 2 plus and had a late supper or early breakfast at a resturaunt nearby. Had a club sandwich which was damn filling. I slept at 3.15am....lol

Dwarfed by the buildings in Shenzhen....

Dwarfed by pillars this time round...

Eating alien tentacles from a stick.... yummy

Roast goose rice.... yummy...=p

Drenched as usual after dancing....lol

The CLUB sandwich... big enough to fill a CLUB of hungry chiongsters...lol

DAY 4, 08/10/05

Woke up late due to the previous night. We left for breakfast at 10.15am, returned at 12pm to check out and we to Tuai Ji (tai zi, prince edward) on the MTR where we or rather jian and vic went to shop. i didn't cos like i said before, clothes in hk are relatively smaller. Vic talked to this shopkeeper who was a guy about our age about sg. He talked about the death penalty, NS and other stuff. That guy was rather appalled especially about NS. As for me i was laughing away inside...especially at his expressions.... hahahahahaha. We then visited Mongkok one last time and slacked around abit before we went back to eaton and waited for our coach to the airport. We took a 7.10pm flight bad which was equally as bad and touched down in sg at 11.03pm... ... ...

Jian lookin all bright and cheery....lol

One final picture at Eaton...

Into the big flying machine we go...

All in all, i spent 1105 HK dollars which is around SG$245.56, bought 5 bags, 1long sleeved shirt, 4 t-shirts, 3 bracelets, 1 pouch, a marker set from HK Muji and some food.... I saw quite a few hot gals and ate lotsa nice food... Indeed it was 4 days well spent.... =p

Of air planes and nail clippers....

First of all, i would like to say.... TERRORISTS, YOU GUYS SUX!!!!!!!... Hmpf... toopid idiots go bomb bali again for what? Kill so many people and cause mayhem. Now people got one less travel destination and makan place to go to liao lah! Happy now???!!!Don't forget you terrorist also lose one spot for R and R ok.... Bleah...Deepest condolences to the victims and their familes. May time heal the hurt and pain you feel....

I havent been updating my blog for the past few days because mr Zzz monster has been inviting me to his house in dream land rather often. Don't know whats up with him leh. Seems like im on his guest list for most of his tea parties. Getting a bit sick of the lipton milk tea and oreo biscuits that he always serves liao....hahahahahahah

Anyways, im on a packing frenzy right now. Im going to Hong Kong with vic and jian tomorrow. YESH!!!! im gonna enjoy all the dim sum and buy lotsa prweetty stuff. Lotsa people asking me to buy stuff for them too. I'll try my best oki.... After comin back from hongkong on the 8th, i'll be flying of to aussie land on the 19th. Going to go there with the army for training.... not to chalk up my frequent flyer miles ok...hahahah. Lots of stuff to prepare and pack. Will be going to down to beach road to get some stuff too. Bleah.... hate buying over priced things from the pushy shop owners there but i have no choice.... oh wells.... Gotta get a water bag, to carry water around because i don't think i can find any vending machine selling coke and 100 plus in the middle of the australian desert, goggles and face mask, to keep dirt from settleing on mi prwetty face, shades, they say its to protect our eyes from the day time glare ...well, i guess must look cool while treating casualties too mah...hahahah, plus other odd and ends...

Been to briefings for the trip too. They tell us that we cannot carry dangerous stuff onto the plane in our hand carry bags and if we want to bring stuff like pocket knifes over, we must pack them in our kit bags instead. Apparently, nail clippers are not allowed in our hand carry bags too because they are considered dangerous... Whats up with that man!!!??? how to hijack a plane with a nail clipper??? They scared terrorist threaten the crew as such hah??... Terrorist grabs an air stewardess and yells " Everyone don't move!!!". He points a nail clipper to her and threatens "Fly this plane to Never Never land or else i'll torture her by using this nair clipper i have in my hand to clip away her goregous jet black hair and maybe her eyebrows!!!!!!" Or maybe he'll catch the pilot and threaten to trim his long finger and toe nails instead...lol... Eh wake up leh airline people!!!! I know extra security measures have to be taken in view of the current terrorist threats but till the extent that nail clippers are not allowed on board????!!!! A bit of an overkill right....

The latest weapons of mass destruction, available in trendy blue, green, silver and red too...lol

If the airlines one to be really safe, i do have some suggestions. Firstly, put all the air stewardess through intensive military training. Send them to tekong for a period of 3 months. Make them stay in resort like buildings with sadistic sergeants tekaning them. Train them in the use of firearms. Make them go through field camp and deprive them of make up. Make them roll in mud and do all sorts of funny stuff at your whims and fancies with them. At the end of the field camp, offer contracts and hire only those who still look pretty even with all the mud on their faces and no make up on.

Yet to be printed SIA stewardess recruitment poster..( this pic is so cute i just had to add it in...lol)

Secondly, when on flights, give the air stewardess kevlar helmets and bullet proof vests to wear over their lovely batik dresses. Must be more careful mah... Care for employees mah... Arm them with 9mm Glock pistols coupled with 2 clips of normal 9mm paraballum bullets and 1 clip of rubber bullets. The normal rounds are to deal with adults while the rubber ones are used on kids. Cool right, personalised service for different groups of customers...lol... All crew leaders should also be issued with assualt rifles and grenade launchers just in case there are james bond like terrorists on board that cannot be stopped using pistols.

This season's fashion must haves.... the sleek black glock 17 pistol and a matching kevlar helmet...

Thirdly, establish a buddy system for the crew. When serving passengers, one person will take the order and serve the passenger while the other will constantly stand at the point stewardess's 8 o'clock position and contantly cover her by pointing her pistol at the passenger. This is to pre empt any sudden or sneak attacks on the crew by terrorists disguised as passengers. Tactical sia....lol

If my suggestions are implemented, im sure air travel will definately be much more safe and customers will feel soooo much more at ease.....lol

The ever prwetty SIA girl...
